One day I was crapping around and suddenly my friend gave me the crazy idea to name my Vespa. Okay, I might not be the first(I heard Jade Seah named hers), but I won’t be the last.

Girl or Guy name?

I think I would go for a Girl’s name, I would rather ride a girl.

I have a certain affection for the name Natalie, as Natalie Portman(Star Wars, Closer, Garden State) is my favourite actress. The name has French roots so my Vespa could be an all European affair.

Other related names to Natalie Portman are character names Mathilda(Leon/The Professional), Evey(V for Vendetta), Padme(Star Wars), Samantha(Garden State), Alice, Jane(Closer), Francine(Paris je t’aime), Leslie(My Blueberry Nights).

Somehow I might leave the name Natalie for the future Vintage Sprint or Super. For now, Evey is catchy. And my brother says Padme(pronounced as pud-da-may) sounds good.

The name Bailey is also on the cards. The Old Bailey was blown up in the movie V for Vendetta and Corinne Bailey Rae is one of my favourite female singers.

I happen to have a liking for the name Sophie, from the movie Love Me if You Dare, and her ambition to be a Flan. And another French name I adore is Maxcine (pronouced as Max-seen) it sounds really classy John Legend even has a song for it on.

Then there’s Tangerine. She is a character from Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind. Now thats a unique name, sounds much better than other fruits like an Apple or Pear. In fact, the name would go well with an orange coat of paint.
